Muni Uddin BSc

Development of novel hipposudoric acid analogues with anitimicrobial activity

Munib was born in Dhaka, but raised in Rome and London. He was fascinated by the world of science from a young age and after completing his A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology he undertook a BSc Pharmaceutical sciences degree at Kingston University London to carry on his aspirations to further his knowledge in the scientific world. In the summer of 2023 Munib graduated from Kingston University London obtaining a first-class degree. During the final year of his undergraduate degree, Munib carried out the synthesis of pyridin-4(1H)-thione staring from Maltol under Dr Peron (one of the many fantastic academics at Kingston University London) as his final year undergraduate research project. After graduating, Munib decided he wanted to continue his academic research career and enrol in a PhD programme at Kingston University London under Dr Stephen Wren. As a member of the Wren Research Group Munib wishes to delve deeper in the medicinal chemistry field. Munib’s current research will focus on the development and synthesis of novel analogues of Hipposudoric acid for therapeutic use. Outside the scientific and research world, Munib enjoys supporting AC Milan and competing in mix martial arts events. He also enjoys reading poems and non-fictional books.
